Surrey, BC – The Prospera Foundation is awarding more than $485,000 in grants to local charities and non-profit organizations this fall, including
Sher Vancouver,
HeadHeartHand Foundation and
University of the Fraser Valley (UFV).
“These grants will support vital community programs that make a lasting impact”, says
TJ Schmaltz, Chief People and Legal Officer of Prospera Credit Union and President of the Prospera Foundation. “For example, our ongoing partnership with UFV will ensure students continue to have access to vital and robust peer-led mental health support. At the heart of this program are trained and compassionate student volunteers who provide one-on-one well-being support at the university’s wellness centres in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.”
Other grant recipients include:
- Canucks Autism Network Society (youth and adult programming)
- Mamas for Mamas (mental health and wellness program)
- Special Olympics BC (sports and health program)
- KCR Community Resources (Volunteers4ALL program)
- Archway Community Services (local business grant)
