Applying for a credit card under the New to Canada program


To apply, you will need to provide essential information about yourself, including:

  • Legal name and date of birth
  • Contact information and address
  • Social insurance number (if available)
  • Employment status
  • Household income
  • Proof of immigration status

What you need to qualify for the New to Canada program


To qualify, you must be: 

  • The age of majority in BC (19 years or older) 
  • A Prospera member 
  • A new immigrant to Canada, which includes: 
    • International students 
    • Federal skilled workers 
    • Members under a provincial immigration program

1. You have used reasonable care in protecting your card from loss or theft; and
2. You have reported to Cardholder Service at 1.855.341.4643 (Canada and U.S.) or 1.647.252.9564 (International Collect) when you knew that your credit card was lost or stolen.

If you believe there has been unauthorized use on your account and you meet the conditions above, you are protected by Zero Liability.
